ICON UK GROUP AND CANADA’S
D FILMS SIGN EXCLUSIVE LONGTERM OUTPUT DEAL



FORMER POLYGRAM AND SIGNPOST EXECUTIVES STEWART TILL AND
DARRYL IWAI TO FORM STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP


D FILMS SECURES EXCLUSIVE CANADIAN DISTRIBUTION RIGHTS ACROSS ALL MEDIA TO ICON’S UPCOMING THEATRICAL MOTION PICTURES
AND FILM & TELEVISION LIBRARIES

Toronto, Canada – Thursday, July 15, 2010 – – D FILMS, Canada’s fastest growing distributor, and leading UK Sales and distribution company, the Icon UK group have entered into an exclusive long-term, multi-picture output deal. Under the terms of the agreement, D FILMS will become the exclusive Canadian distributor for all Icon content inclusive of their prestigious film & television library. In addition to the Canadian partnership, D Films will have access to Icon’s international sales divisions and direct operating territories. In conjunction with this deal, Stewart Till will also join the Board of Directors of D FILMS. The announcement was jointly made today by Darryl Iwai, Chairman of the Board of Directors of D FILMS and Stewart Till, Chief Executive of the Icon UK Group.

The pact reunites Darryl Iwai and Stewart Till for a third time, building upon their long and successful relationships at Signpost Films and before that at PolyGram Filmed Entertainment (PFE).

D FILMS anticipates initially releasing 5 to 6, and subsequently 6 to 8, Icon films per year in Canada.

The Icon UK Group comprises Icon Film Distribution (IFD), Icon Home Entertainment (IHE), Icon Entertainment International (IEI) and Majestic Films & Television. Sales arm IEI is one of the leading suppliers of theatrical feature films to the independent film market, forging strong relationships with the best distributors in key territories around the world. Stewart Till took control of the Icon UK Group in 2009.

D FILMS is led by President and CEO, Jim Sherry, a veteran of the Canadian and U.S. film business. Jim oversaw theatrical distribution and marketing activities for Canada’s foremost distribution company, Alliance Atlantis (now Alliance Films) from 1998 to 2007. He played a key role in the company’s growth and profitability and served in a series of progressively responsible positions to become the Executive Managing Director in 2007. Before joining Alliance, he served as Vice-President of Distribution at New Line Cinema for eight years. Following that he was General Sales Manager at Miramax Films, where he worked closely with Bob and Harvey Weinstein for three years. He was most recently Co-President of Maple Pictures.

The deal was negotiated by Jim Sherry, Darryl Iwai and Samantha Prasad of Minden Gross LLP for D FILMS and by Stewart Till, Dave Harries and Anthony Buckner on behalf of Icon Entertainment International. It is effective immediately.
