The program will launch in Canada on Sept 10 with Mozart’s great audience favourite Così fan tutte broadcast live via satellite from the Royal Opera House in London.

“We are very excited to be in business with Emerging Pictures,” said Tony Cianciotta. “Emerging has done a fantastic job of establishing themselves as the premier supplier of alternative content in North America. We look forward to bringing some of the best productions in the world to Canadian cinemas where our audiences can experience the immediacy of live performances of the masters up close, and all for a very affordable price.

This long-term exclusive output deal with Emerging Pictures instantaneously provides D Films with one of the largest supplies of alternative content in Canada.”

“I’ve known both Jim and Tony for many years,” said Deutchman, “and I can’t think of a better team to help us maximize the Canadian market for our content. This partnership is a big win for both parties.” The deal was negotiated by Jim Sherry and by Tony Cianciotta for D FILMS and by Ira Deutchman on behalf of Emerging Pictures.
