June 16, 2014 – D Films has entered into a financing deal with East West Bank, one of the leading full-service commercial banks in the US. The announcement was made today by Jim Sherry, President and CEO of D Films.

This new financing arrangement comes at a pivotal time in the Canadian independent distribution sector, which has undergone substantial consolidation over the past 18 months. D Films will use the capital to increase its investment in film to bolster its already impressive slate of content as it becomes the country’s next large scale independent distribution entity.

“We are delighted to enter into this financing arrangement with East West Bank” said Sherry. “David Henry and his team have the industry experience and resources to assist us in realizing our extensive expansion plans.”

D Films’ upcoming slate includes the highly anticipated films Words and Pictures, starring Academy Award® winner Juliette Binoche and Academy Award® nominee Clive Owen, Academy Award® winner Paul Haggis’ star studded Third Person, the Jennifer Aniston fronted drama Cake and Kristin Wiig’s upcoming comedy Welcome to Me.

The deal was facilitated by David Henry, Senior Vice President and Managing Director of East West Bank alongside Jim Sherry and Colin McLeod, CFO for D Films.
