JOIN THE REVOLUTION AND ENTER TO WIN ONE OF TEN $2,500 SCHOLARSHIPS!

March 19, 2013, Toronto, ON – In a joint effort to promote sustainable living and environmental education, D Films, NBC Universal and Metro have partnered to give away ten $2,500 scholarships to Canadian students who are committed to creating a sustainable society for future generations.

The award winning film REVOLUTION  takes you on an epic journey with filmmaker and activist Rob Stewart, Director of the groundbreaking documentary SHARKWATER. Join Rob as he embarks on a 4-year adventure through 15 countries to find the key to empowering a sweeping conservation movement across Canada and the world.  After travelling to some of Earth’s most beautiful and fragile ecosystems, learning from the top environmental scientists and participating in major protests and rallies across the globe, Rob leads us to the ultimate understanding – that the younger generation is our future, and hold the key to saving our species.

To enter the contest, students are asked see the film and submit an essay on what they will do to start the REVOLUTION  to save the environment in their communities.

Ten winners will be personally chosen by Rob Stewart and an exclusive committee consisting of:

Les Stroud – creator and star of TV’s “Survivorman”.

Andrew Weaver – Nobel Peace Prize winner for his involvement with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change along with former US Vice President Al Gore

Dr. Boris Worm – a Marine Research Ecologist and Associate Professor at Dalhousie University, Canada.

Ron Suter – Executive Vice President and General Manager of NBC Universal Canada.

Rob Stewart’s debut film Sharkwater was an international hit and went on to win 36 awards, break box office records, aid in changing shark fin government policy around the world and has been seen by more than 124 million people. He has also released a book, Save the Humans, now available in book stores.

REVOLUTION will be released by D Films nationwide on April 12, 2013.
