WORDS AND PICTURES, STARRING ACADEMY AWARD NOMINEE® CLIVE OWEN AND ACADEMY AWARD WINNER® JULIETTE BINOCHE OPENS IN CANADIAN THEATRES ON JUNE 27!

May 26, 2014 – D Films is pleased to announce that Fred Schepisi’s romantic comedy, Words and Pictures, will open in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver on June 27, 2014 with further expansion on July 4, 2014 to other major Canadian markets. The film stars Academy Award® nominee Clive Owen, Academy Award® winner Juliette Binoche and Golden Globe® nominee Amy Brenneman.

Words and Pictures depicts the story of a writer (Owen) whose talent has dried up and an artist (Binoche), struggling to paint as her body betrays her. The two rivals clash at the school where they teach, sparking both a flamboyant courtship and a school-wide war in which the students decide which is more powerful, the word or the picture?

Schepisi is best known for directing films such as Six Degrees of Separation, Roxanne and A Cry In The Dark, for which he was nominated for a Golden Globe® Award for Best Director. He made his directorial debut in Libido and has since directed 23 films.

Words and Pictures is produced by Latitude Productions’ Curtis Burch in collaboration with Dallas-based Lascaux Films. The film was written by Gerald Di Pego (The Forgotten, Message in a Bottle).

Words and Pictures made its world premiere as a Gala Presentation at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival. The film is being released in the US by Roadside Attractions on May 23, 2014.
