May 1, 2013 – D FILMS CORPORATION, Canada’s fastest growing motion-picture distribution company, and UNIVERSAL STUDIOS HOME ENTERTAINMENT CANADA, a worldwide leader in the media and entertainment industry, announced today that they have entered into a distribution agreement in Canada.

Effective immediately, Universal will distribute D Films’ full portfolio of current and future film and television programs in the home entertainment marketplace in both physical and digital formats.  The first title covered under the deal is the Golden Globe® nominated film THE PAPERBOY from Award winning director Lee Daniels, with a cast including Matthew McConaughey, Zac Efron, John Cusack and Academy Award® winner Nicole Kidman.

The agreement will also encompass the home entertainment releases of WINNIE, starring Academy Award® winner Jennifer Hudson and Academy Award® nominee Terrence Howard; REVOLUTION, the follow up to Director Rob Stewart’s internationally acclaimed documentary SHARKWATER; and Academy Award® winner Paul Haggis’ highly anticipated THIRD PERSON, which boasts an all-star cast including Academy Award® winner Adrien Brody, Liam Neeson, Mila Kunis, James Franco, Olivia Wilde, Maria Bello and Kim Basinger.  Paul Haggis’ last ensemble film CRASH went on to win three Academy Awards® including Best Picture.
